A.R. Photography Consulting Inc. was formed in 2015 when director Alison Riley relocated back to Toronto from New York City.
Since then, Alison has worked on a wide range of art consulting, collection management, and appraisal projects for clients. The firm has worked on a variety of appraisals for different purposes, including insurance, donation, potential sales, as well as artists and their archives.
Alison Riley is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America, specializing in Photography, and has maintained USPAP [Uniform Standards and Professional Appraisal Practice] education credentials from 2012 to present. Prior to her working full-time as an appraiser, Alison worked in various art-world positions ranging from non-profit fundraising and development to sales in commercial photography galleries. She received her Master of Art in the History of Photography & Contemporary Practices from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London and her Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson University).
